Colonoscopy

A Colonoscopy is an endoscopic examination of the large bowel (colon). A long, narrow flexible tube containing a miniature camera is passed to the end of the colon (caecum) and into the small bowel (ileum).

A colonoscopy can be used to screen for polyps or cancer. It can also help determine causes for abdominal pain, altered bowel habit, bleeding or weight loss.
